The one Search Console habit that quietly fixed my traffic drop

Inspire To Thrive Updates

Good Sunday Morning

Good Sunday morning,

A few months ago, my search traffic felt stuck. Impressions were okay… but clicks weren’t moving the way I wanted.

Then I started doing one simple thing every week.

I open Google Search Console, sort by the last 28 days, and look at two columns only:

  • Pages that lost clicks (even if impressions stayed the same)
  • Pages that gained a lot of impressions but still have a low CTR

That’s it.

I pick the top 3–5 that matter most to my business and ask:

  1. Is the title still accurate and click-worthy?
  2. Does the meta description match what people are actually searching?
  3. Has the content gone stale, or is a competitor ranking with something fresher?

Most weeks, I tweak only 2–3 titles or add a short section. No full rewrites. No fancy tools.

Result over the last 28 days: 1 million impressions (up 104%) and 4,000 clicks (up 88%).

The habit takes me about 15–20 minutes on Sunday. It’s the highest-ROI 20 minutes I spend on the site.

If your traffic feels flat right now, try this exact process this weekend. Look for the quiet drops and the high-impression/low-click pages first. Those are usually the easiest wins.

Want me to show you exactly how I set up the filters in Search Console, so it takes even less time? Just reply “show me,” and I’ll send the steps.

Talk soon, Lisa

P.S. This is the same process I use on both Inspire To Thrive and Rural Area Life. It works whether you have 50 posts or 500.
